Bach or Bard?

Despite some serious congestion from a sad little cold, Drew made the most of this weekend! Our little Renaissance Man celebrated Papa's birthday by learning how to play "Happy Birthday" on the piano with Mimi!

And then Daddy decided it was time to catch up on entries in the baby book. Naturally, Drew had prose of his own to contribute, so Daddy was his scribe.

Next, you should write down how tasty my fists are!
And of course Swasey was looking on, hoping for a mention, too.

And don't forget to mention my adorable toes!

But the best part of our weekend, was spending time with people we love!

Drew's cousin Melanie takes great care of the little guy - always there to lend a hand and work to get a smile out of him.

Quality time with Mimi and Papa, and a moment to cuddle with Daddy.

Hopefully Drew will be feeling 100% again soon! Meanwhile, we are grateful for the weekend and extra time together as a family.

Rock and ROLL!

We knew this day would come eventually. Drew is on a roll - literally! He rolled over this morning for the first time (well, we think it is the first time; maybe the ladies at his daycare are just very kind to not tell us otherwise!). Both Jeff and I were home to encourage him, and then of course to celebrate the feat! You can see here that Drew was not nearly as enthusiastic as we were.

And as if the first roll wasn't exciting enough, our little over-achiever decided to roll to the other side later in the afternoon!

Now we're working on rolling from back to front. Then it's on to crawling, walking, talking, and driving. Woah, woah... one thing at a time! But time does fly, and we are enjoying each and every moment with Drew, our blessing!

A Few of Drew's Favorite Things

As our little guy grows older, stronger, more steady with his hands, and more curious, we are quickly learning what he loves! Fortunately, it seems that his parents are on that list. He offers Daddy HUGE smiles when he gets home each night. And Mommy is lucky to get some sloppy-but-too-cute-for-words kisses. (Stay tuned: we're hoping to capture these adorable moments on video to post soon!)

What does Drew love to DO, though?

Play time in the mirror! Drew has also found his feet and spends lots of time grabbing them and pulling them toward him. Toes and mirrors are fascinating!

The excersaucer is such fun - colors, toys, music, oh my! This is helping Drew gain strength in his legs, it builds his core strength, and keeps his attention for up to 10 minutes at a time. We LOVE this toy! (And we LOVE that it was $25 at a garage sale!)

And now - for the REAL fun... FOOD!

We just bought Drew a highchair, so now he's a big boy in a big chair. Here's a look at chow time with the Langners...

Step 1: "Bib is on, Mom! Where's my grub?"

Step 2: Open up - here it comes!

Step 3: Ah! Pure, sweet bliss.

After 5 months - we're up and running!

Well, we've said for some time now that we will start a family blog - allowing family and friends from all over to keep up with us. Or, more importantly, to keep up with our growing son, Drew! It has only taken us five months to make good on that promise. We know, you've all been holding your breath.

In such a short time, Drew has stolen our hearts! He is slightly chubby, full of love, and a happy little boy. We look forward to keeping you all posted and hope to have news soon of his first "roll over!" (He's so close!)

We plan to add photos and videos every week or so. We'll see how this goes! For now, we'll start with a simple but fun comparison...

Drew today! 5 months old and having a good time. This blurry picture sums up our little guy's personality pretty well - full of more laughs and giggles every day!
